Description
Burman-Castrol Type 1 Magnetic Field IndicatorThin flexible metal strips 50x12x0.15mm. Consist of 3 layers s = 0.05. The middle one is made of Ni-Fe alloy, the outer ones are made of non-magnetic material. General use.
Burman-Castrol magnetic field indicators are thin flexible metal strips measuring 50 x 12 x 0.15 mm. The indicators consist of three layers, each with a thickness of 0.05 mm. The middle layer is made of nickel-iron alloy with high relative magnetic permeability. The outer layers are made of non-magnetic material. The middle layer has three longitudinal parallel grooves 42 mm long.
Burmah-Castrol Type I indicators have a wider slot width than Type II, which allows indication at a lower magnetic field strength, and is intended for general use.
Mode of application
One indicator is attached to the test surface (transparent adhesive tape is suitable for fastening). It should be positioned so that its main axis coincides with the direction of expected defects.
If the direction of the expected defects can be any, then the second indicator is fixed at right angles to the first.
The part is magnetized and a magnetic particle suspension is applied to the indicator.
When the field has stabilized, the indicator pattern is examined.
