American Walnut S&W K/L-frame Round-Butt Revolver Checkered Target Grips
Here’s a beautiful brand-new set of fine American Walnut grips for the K/L-Frame Round-Butt Smith & Wesson metal-framed revolvers ONLY, allowing your round-butt S&W to wear a full, oversized grip similar in size and appearance to the original full-sized grips S&W used to have for the square-butt guns.
These genuine American Walnut grips feature the checkered panel surrounding the grip screw's "diamond", with a slight palm swell and relief cut, along with traditional checkering like the earlier target grips had, making them comfortable and providing a wonderful grip on the gun.
These are for round-butt guns only, and have
beautiful grain patterns and coloring, and the finest quality machining, all made in the USA.  The fit is very precise, and when installed will leave the backstrap of your revolver partly open like the original style grips (see photos).  The grips are polished and sprayed with a protective coating to preserve and protect the wood.  The actual wood is unaltered, as these are not stained, so the beauty of the wood is visible.  NOTE: These do not fit the square-butt guns; we have square-butt grips in other listings.  Because of the variation in production gun frames, some minor fitting may be needed.
They are polished to achieve a smooth surface that emphasizes the wood's grain, then checkered to provide an exquisite design and finishing touch while providing an improved grasp for the shooter of the K/L-frame, round-butt models.  These utilize the frame's locating pins as well as our own dowel pins to ensure they are properly aligned on your gun, with an included grip screw securing the two halves together to make it easy to install these beautiful grips.  The grips then completely enclose the frontstrap of the gun while leaving part of the the round-butt frame's backstrap open.  No finger-grooves exist on these, as is common with S&W revolver target grips.
These are beautiful grips, with each one different from its kin in grain and shade, as they're made of natural American walnut - not a laminate.  We have a limited number of these available at this time for those who wish to obtain a set without the high cost of custom target grips.  Each set will vary in the exact shade and grain of the wood used; the grips in the photos show a sample set and your set may be different because of the use of natural Santos Rosewood.
The grips include a replacement grip screw (shown installed in the grip halves); brass inserts protect the wood while providing a secure attachment for the single grip screw.  These are ONLY for the round-butt, K/L-Frame guns and DO NOT fit the square-butt guns nor other frame models.  Exchange of grips purchased for the wrong gun may incur a restocking fee at our discretion.
Please, ask questions before you purchase if you are not sure which grips might be needed for your gun; many S&W models were made with either round or square butt frames, so we ask that you be sure of what your gun has, and we will be more than happy help you get the correct grip for your S&W.

These are for either left- or right-handed shooters, as there is no distinct thumb rest on either side's grip panel.
This is a great way to improve the appearance and handling of your gun while adding the look of fine wood to your Smith.  They complement blued or stainless guns equally well.

pair of grips for the price shown in this listing.  We have a number of these sets, and the grips shown in the photos are representative of what you will receive, but since Nature produces the wood, the grain and coloring of each pair will vary.  Note that bright light, such as photo flash, makes the grips appear redder; these are brown as walnut usually is.
